Antonio Szekely and Olivia Noakes have just successfully completed a Vestibular Rehabilitation Course. This is a course that focuses on the inner ear for balance and dizziness rehabilitation.
Completing the course has increased their knowledge and understanding of the anatomy of the peripheral and central vestibular systems. These are the inner ear, brain and balance/coordination systems. They now have a sound understanding of the range of disorders that can impact these systems.

Tony and Olivia can now assess if an individual has vestibular dysfunction. This is otherwise known as:
- Dizziness
- Poor balance
- Hearing loss
- Ringing in the ears
- Light-headedness & dizziness, that has been caused by neck movements
They are now able to assess if a client needs vestibular rehabilitation and can develop a customised program of vestibular retraining exercises and rehabilitation to suit the individual.
They are also able to competently assess and treat typical benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). This is the main condition that causes Vertigo symptoms.
Completing this course has helped Antonio & Olivia to be able to assess and treat symptoms such as:
- Dizziness
- Vertigo, this is a room spinning sensation
- Poor balance and visual tracking, this is when someone is unable to keep their eyes focussed or follow an object with their eyes.
- Eye coordination
- Nausea
- Light-headedness

This course has also helped them to improve their knowledge of a disorder that is called, Persistent Postural and Perceptual Dizziness. Otherwise known as chronic dizziness that has persisted for more than 3 months. They now have an in-depth understanding of concussion, cerebellum brain injuries, tinnitus (or ringing in the ears). As well as Meniere’s disease and headaches.
