Prince Alfred College – U18 Football Program Physiotherapist
Background
Kevin is a physiotherapist with a strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation. He has experience across sports, post-operative and neurological rehabilitation settings.
Before qualifying, Kevin spent more than three years as a physiotherapy aide in a busy private practice, assisting with sports injury and post-operative rehabilitation programs and working in hydrotherapy. He also brings a practical sports medicine background, having worked as a Sports Trainer with Port Adelaide Football Club and Rostrevor Old Collegians Football Club, where he provided on-field injury management, first aid and sports taping. He currently works as a Physiotherapist with the Prince Alfred College U18 Football Program.
Kevin has a strong sporting background of his own. He has trained in martial arts for many years, holding a 3rd Dan in Taekwondo and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and he coaches BJJ classes. He also enjoys running, golf, tennis and basketball. Having managed his own sporting injuries along the way, he developed a genuine interest in physiotherapy and the role it plays in helping people recover and return to the activities they enjoy.
Before becoming a physiotherapist, Kevin worked as a chef. That experience has given him a practical understanding of the physical and occupational demands different professions place on the body. Kevin takes an evidence-based approach to care, with a strong focus on exercise-based rehabilitation and active patient involvement. He uses manual therapy where appropriate as an adjunct to exercise and education, with the aim of helping people achieve meaningful functional outcomes.
