For Clients unable to attend the practice we offer a home visit service that aims to provide our same quality of care in the convenience of your own home.
Some of the reasons why clients may be unable to attend the clinic for treatment include:
|
In cases of very acute injury and associated pain clients may be unable to walk or travel in a car. In these situations, the physical stress of getting out of bed and into the car is likely to aggravate a clients condition.
In these situations, the Physiotherapist will first focus on a thorough assessment to determine the cause of the injury and develop a plan of management.
Initial treatment is aimed at relieving the acute pain with gentle massage, dry needling, stretching and taping. Advice is given on postures and positions to relive pain and exercises are prescribed that reduce injury and alleviate symptoms.
The Physiotherapist will bring a treatment bed and any equipment required for the treatment.
Many clients with a disability find it challenging to attend the clinic. IN these situations home visits are focused on developing a management program that works towards goals set between the client and Physiotherapist.
Such a management program may include many of our in clinic services such as:
|
Supervised exercise programs at home are one on one and specific to the client’s condition and goals. Programs can incorporate strengthening, stretching, balance training, gait re-education and functional movement training. The Physiotherapist can bring small equipment to the house to facilitate the program.
In the acute post surgical period, many clients are restricted in their ability to travel from home. In such cases home visits are required to provide the treatment and support to progress your rehabilitation.
The Physiotherapist will undertake a full assessment and develop a management program with you. You may require some initial hands on therapy to reduce swelling and relive pain. The Physiotherapist will also review your home exercise program and start progressing your exercises as you improve.
For older clients who find it difficult to get around our Physiotherapists can come to you so that you receive the same high quality of service that you would get in the clinic.
Some clients require hands on treatment for their aches and pains. In these situations, the Physiotherapist will bring a treatment bed and any essentials required to perform the treatment.
Others clients require the establishment of a home based exercise program that aims at strengthening and stretching the body to enhance and maintain mobility. In these cases, the Physio can bring small equipment required to teach the program. Programs can be practiced by the client at home and Physio visits can progress the program to keep you improving.
