If you’ve recently gone into the Aberfoyle Park practice, then you would have more than likely bumped into Thomas Nunn.
Thomas has been with the Aberfoyle Park Physio for the past 3 years, he has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy having graduated from UniSA.
In addition to this Tom has completed level 1 GEMT Dry Needling, Core Physio Pilates Level 1, The McKenzie Institute Australia Part A – The Lumbar Spine, GLA:D Good Life with OsteoArthritis: Denmark – Hip and Knee (Christian Barton). He also has completed a shoulder course with Jared Powell and the GLA:D program.
Tom’s areas of interest are headaches, lumbar, shoulder and knee injuries, sports injuries, gym injuries and post-surgical management. Tom also has a keen interest in active rehabilitation.
We asked Tom some fun facts, so that we can get to know him a little better and find out some non Physio related facts about Tom.
Are you a coffee or tea person?
Coffee. Although the Brackendale Tea Company has some fantastic options!
What motivates you at work?
I really enjoy helping people get back to their best but I also love it when you start to treat families and get to know families!
Have you ever met anyone famous?
I met Mark Ricciuto as a kid. I have also met Rory Sloane and Taylor Walker – sounds like a bit of a crows theme to me!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An Adelaide Crows player
What’s your least favourite chore around the house?
Cleaning the bathroom
What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
Coffee, hanging out with friends and playing board games
What’s your favourite food?
Pizza, a delicious lamb roast
What’s your favourite movie?
Hard to say but I found Hacksaw Ridge particularly memorable
Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
Not a lot of people at work know that I can play the piano
Do you have any pets?
Mum has a cute Bichon Frise
Are you a sports fan? Who are your favorite teams?
Yes, proud Adelaide Crows fan and I enjoy following Australia in the cricket
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I have a few early shifts so that definitely gets me up. I think if I am consistent with sleep it’s good to get going in the morning but I don’t also mind staying up late!
Can you speak more than one language?
I wish! My partner Mary is excellent in Italian so there is potential there
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hopefully I will have a family. Otherwise, it is hard to picture 10 years from now
What was your favorite subject in school?
PE or English
Do you play any sports?
I used to play lots of footy. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to fit it in over the last few years
Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Maybe an ambivert? I think I can be a bit of both!
Do you like roller coasters?
Haven’t been on one for a while but I don’t mind the thrill of theme park rides.
Do you have any phobias?
I actually don’t think I am great with heights. I found tree climbing quite daunting especially on the challenging courses.
If you could play an instrument, what would it be?
I play a bit of piano and guitar, but I reckon it would be great to play the drums.
Which historical figure would you most like to meet?
So hard to say, Many great options. C.S Lewis or Winston Churchill would be fascinating.
What’s your favourite season?
I don’t mind summer, autumn or winter. All add something different, they have pros and cons. Being someone who has had issues with hayfever I would say spring is my least favourite.
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
My Bible, a very robust swag and maybe a hatchet? Read the book and that seemed to work out in the end.
What’s your idea of a perfect day?
Wake up, go to the gym, then go to CREAM at Brighton for breakfast/coffee, walk along the beach and then hangout with my partner and friends in the evening playing board games and having a few quiet drinks!
