To celebrate the festive season, embrace the spirit of giving, and support our local charities, for the second year running, Core Physio & Pilates Studio is holding a Christmas Food Drive in all of their practices. We will be collecting food donations up until the 12th of December.
COVID-19 and its flow-on effects have impacted the lives of all Australians. Local charities have seen a significant increase in the frequency of demand for food relief.
In 2019, 15% of Australians experiencing food insecurity were seeking food relief at least once a week. In 2020, this has doubled to 31%.
Young Australians have been the hardest hit, with 65% of food insecure 18 to 25-year-olds going without food at least once a week due to the pandemic.
This is significantly more than any other age group as are casual employees and international students.
We will have Foodbank food stations set up in our clinics, if you have anything in your pantry that you’d like to clear or something that you can spare, you can drop it off at your local Core Physio and Pilates Studio’s Foodbank station.
