Congratulations to Adrian, Physio from the Aberfoyle Park practice, who competed in the Gold Coast Half Marathon as part of the Gold Coast Marathon Festival. Adrian came 21st overall and was the 7th Australian out of 9,800 entrants and finished with a time of 1:06:41, running 21.095km’s.
As running is one of the easiest and most popular ways to stay fit, it’s important not to ignore the early injury signs. The impact and stress of running can often affect the knees, ankles, hips and feet. The most common injuries Adrian sees in runners is shin splints, plantar fasciitis and patellofemoral pain (knee cap pain) as well as calf strains and achilles tendon pain.
Adrian uses a range of treatment options for runners including training advice, home exercises, running technique, footwear advice, dry needling/massage and more.
