Kate Physiotherapist at the Marion practice, recently took part in a Women’s Health Course with Women’s Health Training Associates.
She is now able to perform internal examinations to assess pelvic floor function and prolapse. This is very beneficial because Kate is able to check to see if you’re activating correctly, she is also able to assess the strength and endurance of your pelvic floor. From there Kate can set up an individualised home program for you. Whether it be to reduce leakage whilst running, sneezing, coughing, or to assist you with feelings of urgency or frequency.
An internal examination can be particularly beneficial in the early post-natal period to assess function, coordination and potential damage. It’s also very helpful to provide feedback for any women experiencing urinary or fecal incontinence/troubles at any stage throughout their life.
Added to her pre and postnatal training Kate is now competent in exercising high-risk pregnancies ie. gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia. She is able to thoroughly assess and treat pre- and post-natal conditions; through hands-on treatment as well as Physio Exercise and home exercises. If it’s required, Kate can also diagnose and treat urinary and fecal complaints. To make a booking to see Kate, you can press this link or give us a call on (08) 8377 1000.
