From early July through to August this year, voting took place in our practices for our annual Core Physio Awards. Giving our clients and staff the opportunity to vote for a variety of different awards in many categories. Once again, there was a lot of buzz about the awards night, the last three months saw a lot of energy in the practices from both our clients and staff around the voting, we received some serious action in all categories.
On Saturday the 19th of September 2020, we held our annual Core Awards night at Next Generation Memorial Drive. Main awards were presented to the winners of all categories, this year we acknowledged who the leaders in each category were at each practice. Announcing the runners up for the awards, and recognising the people in each clinic whose clients thought that they were outstanding.
We would also like to acknowledge the team members of the people that won the awards. These are the people that make everything in the practice happen and run smoothly, so that that person was able to be the best that they could be at work.

Vicki Dyer, Admin Person Of The Year
The 2020 Core Awards Winners
Admin Person Of The Year
This award came directly from the votes of our clients, we all know that our valued admin team is our first point of contact, giving our clients their first impression and experience at Core Physio and Pilates Studio.
Often the relationships that clients form with the admin staff and their conversations over the counter are more counsellor and friend than staff member. For many of our clients this makes their experience so much more personal.
Practice leaders for admin person of the year were:
- VICKI DYER at Aberfoyle Park
- NADINE LETCHER at Beverley
- ANNIE HUNT at Burnside
- CASSANDRA POCOCK at Campbelltown
- BELINDA CLEMENTS at Christies beach
- SHYANNE PINCH at Marion
- KAYLA RAINSFORD at Melrose Park
- SARAH WILLIAMS, SHARON LONGHURST & AMARA CAMPBELL all tied at the Morphett Vale practice
- JULIA HOLLAND at Plympton
This year’s winner was: VICKI DYER
Vicki Dyer

In all of her moves Vicki has developed extremely strong bonds with the clients in the practice and has become relied upon by the staff. Vicki has always helped out the practice by regularly filling in shifts and has been flexible to help the admin team and practice work well.

Jaye Simpson, Practice Manager Of The Year
Practice Manager Of The Year
It’s the Practice Manager’s role to balance out the needs of the Physios, admin staff and clients all at the same time, following the plan for the practice to help it run effectively and efficiently. Most of this work is done in the background and very few of us ever notice when it’s done really well, because when everything is perfect, we all get our jobs done with maximum enjoyment.
This year’s practice manager’s award was voted on by owners and head office staff, with the award being presented to Jaye Simpson from the Aberfoyle Park practice.
Jaye Simpson
Jaye is the practice manager at the Aberfoyle Park Physio Practice, she has worked at this practice for the past four years. Jaye won this award not only because she is doing a great job working with her Senior Physio, Admin and Physio teams to get some exceptional results; but also because she has grown and helped the practice through some tough times in 2018 and 19 to get it to where it is now.
Jaye has always been on top of her deadlines and meeting all of her KPIs, she has had some great results in her last practice audit. Jaye worked really hard to improve the culture in the practice, and has made personal sacrifices and done lots of extra work during the Covid period to keep the practice above water.

Miriam Annich, Rising Star Of The Year
Rising Star Of The Year
The rising star of the year award is given to a new graduate Physio who has excelled. To win this award the Physio needed to score the most votes out of their peers and clients in the general voting, have solid attendance at training and show a steady evolution over the course of the year.
This award has been the hardest award to determine this year in all aspects of the way it was judged. During training the attendance has been at almost 100%. At work in the practices all the new staff have had amazing productivity, received excellent new patient scores from their clients, and have had outstanding client retention and rebooking rates. This year’s award was determined by the number of votes that the winner received.
2020’s Rising Star award was given to MIRIAM ANNICH, her award was presented to her by Neha Kamat, her Senior Physio.
Miriam Annich
Miriam is a member of the Aberfoyle park practice’s team, she has worked hard with her Senior Physio Neha to continue to evolve and progress through hard work, lots of questions, seeking out feedback regularly and attending all continuing ed and PhysioEx training for the year. Most of all it was obvious from all of the votes and comments on the voting slips, that clients appreciate Miriam’s friendly nature and great sense of humor.

Jordan Bennett, Physio Of The Year
Physio Of The Year
The Physio of the year was open for all Physios from all practices and was selected solely from the votes from patients and staff. We do this because we have so many amazing staff at Core Physio and Pilates Studio, that it would be almost impossible for founders and managers to choose just one person. There currently are more than 75 Physios at Core Physio and Pilates Studio at the moment, and we received over 1500 votes so the competition was really tough.
Practice leaders for Physio of the year were:
- MIRIAM ANNICH at Aberfoyle Park
- CHRISTINA HWANG at Adelaide CBD
- RACHEL HUTCHINGS at Adelaide City East
- BOBBY PARK at Beverley
- BEN FREEMAN at Burnside
- VRINDA SURI at Campbelltown
- JORDAN BENNETT at Christies Beach
- COREY BAKER at Marion
- ALICIA FERNANDES at Melrose Park
- DIMITRIS TOPKAS at Morphett Vale
- OLIVIA NOAKS at Plympton
2020’s Core Physio of the year was awarded to JORDAN BENNETT
Jordan Bennett
Jordan works at the Christies beach Physio practice and has been with Core Physio and Pilates Studio since 2018. Jordan’s clients voted for him in droves, but also wrote some of the most inspirational messages. He has a lot of young NDIS clients who are really attached to his unique way of making rehab and Physio fun, whilst still working on specific goals and obtaining great results. Jordan has become an important part of the team at Christies Beach, managing an almost 100% capacity patient load, in the end Jordan’s clients spoke in their votes.

Corey Baker, PhysioEx Instructor Of The Year
PhysioEx Instructor Of The Year
This year we added a new category to our awards night to recognise the Physio staff member that excelled at rehabilitating their clients in our Pilates Studios. This category was determined by voting from clients that took the time whilst going in and out of Pilates classes to cast their vote. It’s impossible to win this award without running an interactive class that is fun and energetic, but has a great focus on physical and clinical outcomes.
The practice leaders for PhysioEx instructor of the year were….
• NEHA KAMAT at Aberfoyle Park
• NANDINI at Adelaide City East
• CAROLYN DO at Beverley

The 2020 Pilates instructor the year was awarded to Corey Baker.
Corey Baker
Corey is one of the amazing Physios at the Marion practice; he received an outstanding number of votes from his clients with some of the most exuberant messages and comments. There is no doubt that Corey’s clients have expressed their appreciation for Corey’s light hearted and fun way that he runs classes, while still giving focused assistance and progression.

The Marion Practice Winner Of The Corelympics
The Corelympics
Our final award for the night was the most prestigious and well deserved award; the Corelympics Cup was awarded to the practice that was the most skilled, competent and natural at playing party games!
We saw some fierce competition on the night, and the scores were close, but the winner of 2020’s Corelympics Cup was the Marion practice.
