We Enjoy Exercising Outdoors
We have had a tough 2020 with profound changes affecting all of us very differently. Even though it’s been tough, it is nice to see how much Australians like to go out and exercise together for all the “feel good” that comes with it. Something to note about our bodies is how quickly that we can get deconditioned.
Everyone is familiar with the “use it or lose it” idea, but how quickly you’ll lose it depends on your:
- fitness level
- age
- length of break
- reason for the break
That’s a lot of variables, so let me just say, every individual is unique and different. But, everyone who stops working out (deconditions) will experience changes to their muscles, cardiovascular system and weight in different ways.
Exercising Safely Is Important
People have been keen to get into shape and get fit fast, but realising that it needs to be done safely and to our body’s NEW condition is important as it prevents us from sustaining injuries.
At the Aberfoyle Park Physio practice, our PhysioEx classes can be an amazing intermediate between what level of fitness you want to be pursuing, and the level you are at as they are customised by a health professional with a sound understanding of your past health status, injuries, ongoing pain related conditions or changes in health status post birth, post chemotherapy or balance issues etc…
This allows yourself and your body time to understand what “good form/ technique” means. This is because it cannot be learnt in a day, but needs constant reminders to force out bad habits or postural adaptations we have developed to cope with something without realising we are doing it.
Your Physio Can Create A Plan For You
A Physios role is to find what your current health status allows, and to follow it safely whilst getting to a healthier you.
So no matter what your health condition, we can make a plan to suit your individual needs.
Reach out to your Physio, ask questions and seek guidance as we can all be stronger and healthier than we are with the right advice and supervision without injuring ourselves.
