In Rooms Appointments
Currently in rooms appointments continue to be the recommended means of delivering Physiotherapy services at Core Physiotherapy & Pilates Studio practices.
Precautions in place are:
We’re pre-screening all clients for recent travel, current illness, and contact with COVID-19 cases.
Clients and staff will be asked not to attend if they meet the criteria.
Use of increased hygiene measures such as hand sanitising/washing between before/after each client and disinfecting all contact surfaces after each client.
Reducing the number of clients in the waiting areas, requesting clients follow social distancing measures with other clients.
Health Fund Claims – clients are NOT required to sign HICAPS slips to reduce risks.
Payments – clients asked to swipe/tap their own cards and avoid cash payments.
Physio Exercise Sessions
Our group numbers have been reduced to ensure adequate space for clients and staff. Clients are encouraged to continue attending these small group sessions provided they are following our screening guidelines.
If clients prefer to attend with fewer people present they can attend an Ad Hoc ‘Semi-Private’ or ‘Individual Session’.
Note: Current SA specific guidelines are that Groups are able to continue as the SA Government has not taken on the Federal recommendation of limiting to 2 person gatherings at this time.
Semi Private Sessions
Semi-Private Sessions involve booking 2 clients (preferably from the same household) into the same appointment time for 40 minutes and providing a more individualised session than the regular Group Exercise sessions.
Individual Exercise Sessions
Individual Sessions can be provided where required and must fit the requirements of a regular subsequent consultation including history taking, individual differentiation of exercises, the progression of exercises and appropriate clinical records.
Costs will continue at regular fees, though some discretion on discounts will likely be notified at an individual practice level.
Home Visits
For those of you, that do not wish to come into the practice, a home visit is available for you.
The same precautions apply to home visits as they do for in-room appointments.

- Portable treatment bed
- Sorbolene tape
- Scissors
- Exercise equipment that may be needed i.e.
– Theraband
– Release tools such as lumbar rolls

The visit is claimable through your health fund the pricing is:
$100 for Initial Home Visit Consultation#
$90 for Subsequent Home Visit Consultation+
Home Visits are normally paid over the phone before the appointment and the paid invoice will be provided to you on attendance.
TeleHealth Appointments
What is TeleHealth?
TeleHealth is essentially a Video Based Face to Face Consultation between a Physio and Client.
A secure/encrypted ‘peer to peer’ video application is required for providing TeleHealth services. We have chosen to utilise a web based application called Coviu as other applications such as Zoom, Facetime and Skype do not meet the privacy requirements, while Physitrack requires the client to download an App to use on mobile and tablet devices.
Coviu simply requires the client to have any device that has a web browser and a camera and audio (eg phone, tablet, desktop or laptop). To enter a TeleHealth Consultation the client simply clicks on the invitation link that has been sent to them via email or SMS.
‘Allow’ Coviu to access the microphone and camera and they will then be placed in the virtual waiting room ready for the Physio to accept their call.
When to Book a TeleHealth Appointment?
We recommend a TeleHealth appt when you’re unable to come into the practice or the Physio is unable to do a home visit because of one of the reasons that are below.
The client is in self isolation.
A member of the clients household is in isolation
The client is in either a retirement home or group living situation where they are not allowed to leave or have visitors unless under emergency circumstances.
The client does not feel comfortable with either entering the practice or home visits during the Pandemic
The client has be advised to social distance themselves from everyone due to chronic illness/age or vulnerability

Appointment Lengths
New Client and New Injury TeleHealth appointments are 40 minutes
Subsequent TeleHealth appointments will range from 20-30 minutes
