Physios Can Help With Migraines
What some of you may not know, is that as Physiotherapists we can help treat your headaches and even help with migraines. There can be many causes of headaches and migraines, a lot of people are chronic sufferers of these conditions and aren’t aware of the role of Physiotherapy, in treating and helping them with the associated symptoms.
What Can Cause Headaches
Some types of headaches can be caused by tension and stiffness, in the upper joints of the neck. Stiffness and tightness in the neck can also worsen or contribute to migraine symptoms.
These issues can occur due to sustained poor postures, such as those that occur whilst working long hours at a desk. They can also arise from a specific neck injury or traumatic incidents like a car accident.
How Your Physio Can Help
As Physiotherapists, we carry out a thorough examination of your neck movement, posture, muscle tightness, joint stiffness and any other contributing factors.
From there we can advise and carry out a treatment plan that will help you with your symptoms. Your rehabilitation may also include advice on appropriate exercises for the home, gym or here at our clinic in PhysioEx supervised group sessions.
Olivia is looking forward to taking your bookings and working with you to improve your headache symptoms.
