Maddie, Physio from the Christies Beach practice, has recently completed her Masters of Advanced Clinical Physiotherapy (Sports) through UniSA, which she began in 2018 at the City East campus. During the course, Maddie made some great friends including Sachin, featured in the photo with Maddie, who works at our Adelaide CBD Physio practice.
When studying for her Master’s Degree, Maddie learned skills that included:
- Allied health evidence translation
- Pain theory & science
- Pain assessment & management
- Advanced musculoskeletal examination & management
- Facilitating change in cognition
- Behaviours and lifestyle
- Sports injury assessment and management
Maddie enjoyed all aspects of the course, however manual therapy and clinical reasoning studies were her favourite subjects during her time at UniSA.
She also undertook placements with the Happy Valley Football Club and Adelaide City Soccer (Football) Club, where she helped and supported the athletes within the club to manage their injuries.
